Report: With Tickets Or Without, Halifax Fans Flying High To See OZZY OSBOURNE

John Gillis of The Chronicle Herald reports: Ozzy Osbourne's first appearance in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada had fans going off the rails before the Metro Centre doors even opened.

Temperatures that dipped to –18 C with the wind chill didn’t deter some eager but ticketless fans from trying to win their way into the sold-out show by participating in a look-alike contest outside the downtown arena.

Alan Broussard was the first on the scene at the Q104-sponsored contest, barking at the moon with painted face and wielding an impressive array of props.

Mr. Broussard swung a Barbie in a noose, flung cat food at onlookers, waggled his tongue and did very rude things to a cardboard cutout Celine Dion.

Dan Negus wobbled up, portraying an addled latter-day Ozzy bearing a sign that said, "Please help me find the stage."

The 30-year-old Hubbards man said he had been an Osbourne fan since he was 12 and had been trying to win ticket give-aways all week.

"I gotta see the show, man," he said in an on-again, off-again accent.
